Due to an increase in the number of trekkers and climbers in the Everest region, the number of Lukla flights have increased. This has increased traffic congestion at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Thus, flights are rerouted to decrease traffic congestion and minimize loads at TIA. So, if you are going to Everest this summer, you will have to go to Manthali airport and take a flight to Lukla from there.
