Communication within and beyond Nepal’s borders is easy and convenient because of widespread telecommunication coverage and accessible WiFi services. Two main companies (NTC and Ncell) are operating in Nepal and their coverage includes most cities and villages, though in more remote areas, coverage is still lacking. The country code for Nepal is +977 and 01 for landlines in the city of Kathmandu.
Internet services are rapidly increasing, and teahouses often offer WiFi along the trails, though you may have to pay an extra fee. In cities, WiFi is often available in hotels, bars, restaurants, and hospitals. You do not have to worry about being able to keep in touch with family and friends while you are traveling in Nepal.
Postal service is available in major cities. The central post office of Nepal is located at Sundhara of Kathmandu, and it operates from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
