The currency of Nepal is the Nepali rupee (Rs). Commonly used coin denominations are the one and two-rupee coins, and banknotes come in denominations of five, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 rupees.
The United States Dollar and a few other currencies are accepted by some hotels, travel agencies, restaurants, and shops. To exchange your home currencies for Nepal rupees, you can use an authorized exchange counter or go to one of the major banks for the best exchange rate.
