This trek is great for those who have previous hiking experience and are looking for a shorter version of the Mardi Himal Trek. Without missing the major places, this trek can be done within 3 days of leaving Pokhara. The journey begins with a short drive from Pokhara to Dhampus. The first part of the trail is in a lush forest. After walking for a few minutes, you will arrive at Pothana, a beautiful little town where we register our trekking permits at the tourist checkpoint.

The trail follows up to Deurali. From here, you’ll see a gorgeous view of Dhaulagiri and Machhapuchhre (Mount Fishtail). The path continues into the forest until Forest Camp. This section is super peaceful with the sound of birds chirping and the wind flowing through the trees. In March and April, enjoy the bright red rhododendrons in full bloom. The total distance for the 3-day Mardi Himal Trek is about 40 kilometers (24.8 miles).  The trail is well-built and maintained.

3 Days Mardi Himal Trek offers awe-inspiring views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range peaks as well as the iconic Fishtail Mountain. The view from the Badal Danda and High Camp are the highlights of the trek. The viewpoint offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas, especially at sunrise. Mardi Himal Base Camp is 2 hours walking distance from the Viewpoint and the trail is not too steep.

In the distance, you get a beautiful view of Annapurna Base Camp and a chain of snow-capped Himalayan peaks – another highlight of the Mardi Himal 3 Days Trek. There are a few teahouses at Mardi Himal Base Camp where you can enjoy the beautiful view with a warm cup of tea. From here, you walk down to Sidding while looking out at the crisp mountain views along the way. Sidding is the trekking ending point, from where we drive back to Pokhara, one of the major cities in Nepal, and celebrate the end of an amazing trek with best Nepali food in the city.

3 Days Mardi Himal Difficulty

This trek can be done with a regular hiking experience. If you have previous hiking experience in high altitude, this trek is a piece of cake. It is a simple hike on the trail – nothing too strenuous. If you do not have previous hiking experience, it is recommended to practice for 3+ weeks before your departure. You can hike in some nearby hills or if you live in a flat area, walking up stairs or on a treadmill will do the job. It is helpful to build some stamina to make this trek safer and more enjoyable. The trail leads up to 4600 meters, so if you do not have previous high-altitude trekking experience please tell us in advance, so our guides are aware. The trail is a bit narrow on the way to the viewpoint and you have to walk in the dark with the headlamp, so please follow our guide and ask if get confused about anything. Especially in winter, you have to be careful on the way to and from viewpoint because of ice, people may slip and fall. Because of this, we highly recommend carrying crampons in the winter and early spring. Our team carries crampons for your safety.

The trail then leads to Pothana through green forests. After walking for about 45 minutes, you arrive at Pothana a tiny village where you present your Annapurna Conservation Area Permit. In March, red rhododendron flowers light up the trail.  After walking 2 and a half hours, there are two little tea houses in the middle of the forest where we rest and have lunch or some tea. Enjoy the sound of birds on the trail and, if you’re lucky, sometimes we can see wild animals such as deer, bears, leopards, etc. Finally, after walking about 6 hours from Dhampus, we will arrive at Forest Camp. This is a little town with 7-8 guest houses with an awesome view. The view of Ghandruk, Landruk, and Chomrung looks beautiful. • Mardi Himal Trek with Kids 10 and 15 years old

Amazing experience! My kids also loved this trek pretty much. It was a little quick trip but we had not enough time. However, we finished this trek successfully. The guide, Porter, and the CEO Kishwor were always with us. Thank you very much to our Porter and Guide for taking very good care of my kids. Recommended Breeze Adventure without any doubt.
